8/1/08 – Gedy’s back home!!!

2 08 2008

Today Gedy came back from Tampa, Florida, After 3 months of separation due to her work, she’s back to stay here in Kansas City with me FOREVER!!! Wow! Those 3 months were hard, but God wanted both of us to be alone because He wanted to deal with issues we had in our hearts. I thank God that I had that time alone with Him to really see my bad attitudes, and my issues. God is so merciful and loving that He gave me grace to over come my bad ways. I continue to learn day by day of His love for me. Yeah! HE LOVES ME! I got to spend the whole day with Gedy (“My Best Buddy”). We went out to eat with Doreen, shared many experiences, we had a great time. I’m so glad Gedy is back, I love her so much… and now I can have someone at home to talk to, pray with, read and share the Word of the Lord with (and cook too! YES!). Now we start our journey together into God’s heart. Thank you Jesus!!!

Malachi 3:3

26 07 2008

“He will sit like a refiner of silver, burning away the dross. He will purify the Levites, refining them like gold and silver, so that they may once again offer acceptable sacrifices to the Lord.” Malachi 3:3 (New Living Translation)

This verse puzzled some women in a bible study and they wondered what this statement meant about the character and nature of God. One of the women offered to find out the process of refining silver and get back to the group at their next Bible Study.

That week, the woman called a silversmith and made an appointment to watch him at work. She didn’t mention anything about the reason for her interest beyond her curiosity about the process of refining Silver.

As she watched the silversmith, he held a piece of silver over the fire and let it heat up. He explained that in refining silver, one needed to hold the silver in the middle of the fire where the flames were hottest as to burn away all the impurities.

The woman thought about God holding us in such a hot spot; then she thought again about the verse that says: “He sits as a refiner and purifier of silver.” She asked the silversmith if it was true that he had to sit there in front of the fire the whole time.

The man answered that yes, he not only had to sit there holding the silver, but he had to keep his eyes on the silver the entire time it was in the fire. If the silver was left a moment too long in the flames, it would be destroyed. The woman was silent for a moment. Then she asked the silversmith, ‘How do you know when the silver is fully refined?’

He smiled at her and answered, “Oh, that’s easy — when I see my image in it.” If today you are feeling the heat of the fire, remember that God has his eye on you and will keep watching you until He sees His image in you.

WOW!!!

Omega Course

26 07 2008

WHAT IS THE OMEGA END TIMES COURSE?

There is coming a time when life as we know it will be forever changed. The Bible describes it as a time of great trouble and gives us much information on how to survive and even thrive in this time. The question is not one of provision—it’s one of preparation. The Omega Course is designed to help churches, small groups and individuals prepare their heart for the days to come. At its core, the Omega Course is an eight week DVD curriculum. Mike Bickle gives a broad overview of the End Times in eight sessions, describing the people, places and events that matter most at the end of the age. The curriculum includes additional audio teachings, complete outlines, appendix, glossary and a guide to leading small group discussion. The Omega Course is about more than information. It’s about preparing the worldwide Church for what the Bible promises will be its most glorious hour; Omega is part of preparing people to be ready. We will offer online discussions, audio downloads of continued teaching and seminars both at IHOP and in your own town. In addition to the DVD curriculum, our Omega Traveling Team can train your leaders or speak in your church on the major themes of the Omega material. This is a great way to introduce your group to the material and launch your own journey of study on the End Times. If you have any questions about the Omega Course or would like to invite an Omega Traveling Team to speak, please e-mail omega@ihop.orgFor further discussion, visit the End Times Simplified discussion forum hosted by IHOP author David Sliker.

“Wow! I need to study more about the end times, there’s so much to learn. It’s important to understand this time and my place in this time. I pray for wisdom and revelation on this course that I just started to study this week.”

7/20/08 – I got baptized!!!

22 07 2008

Why should we get baptized?

As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and lighting on him. Matthew 3:16 (New International Version)

Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:18-20 (New International Version)

There are two ceremonies Jesus gave for every believer to observe communion and baptism. Why should we get baptized? Because Jesus did, and he did it publicly. Getting baptized tells the world about your faith in Jesus as your Savior. This lets people know that you mean business with God, and that you’re going to live for him, with courage and excitement! Not only does God want you to profess him by being baptized in water, but he also wants you to be a witness for him by being filled daily with his Holy Spirit. Why be baptized in the Holy Spirit? Because we need the power we receive from him. Acts 1:8 says, “But when the Holy Spirit comes to you, you will receive power.” We don’t need to depend on our own strength and ability. God makes unlimited strength and power available to us through his Holy Spirit. As a believer, you need that power to make a difference for him. Everyone does. Jesus is the baptizer. Let him baptize you with his power today! (revolve NT)

Fellowship with God: Ten Prayers to Strengthen our Inner Man

9 07 2008

I.              F-E-L-L-O-W-S-h-I-P: 10 prayers for strength in my inner man

16 To be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man… (Eph. 3:16)

A.            F- Fear of God: Father, release the fear of God into my heart, strike me with awe that I might tremble before Your majestic presence (Isa. 66:2). Cause me to always delight in fearing You.

40 I will put My fear in their hearts so that they will not depart from Me. (Jer. 32:40)

11 I will walk in Your truth; unite my heart (to Your heart/Word) to fear Your name. (Ps. 86:11)

B.             E- Endurance (patience): Father, strengthen my spirit that I may persevere with a steadfast heart in mundane seasons, difficult circumstances and in standing for truth that brings persecution.

11 Being strengthened with all power…may have great endurance and patience… (Col 1:11 NIV)

C.             L- Love: Father, tenderize my heart by releasing revelation of Your love to me. Let me feel the power of Your 4-fold love (love from You, for You, to myself then overflowing to others). Set Your seal of fire on my heart (Song 8:6). (We pray in agreement with Jesus’ prophecy in Mt. 22:37 and His prayer in Jn. 17:26 that we would walk in the anointing to receive and give love).

23 You (Father)…have loved them as You have loved Me. 24 Father, I desire that they whom You gave Me may be with Me where I am…26 I have declared to them Your name, and will declare it, that the love with which You loved Me may be in them… (Jn. 17:23-26)

5 The love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit… (Rom. 5:5)

9 I pray that your love may abound still more and more… (Phil. 1:9)

18 That you…may be able to comprehend…what is the width and length and depth and height…19 to know the love (affection) of Christ which passes knowledge. (Eph. 3:18-19)

D.            L- Light of Glory: Father, allow me to see Your glory. Give me Holy Spirit encounters (dreams, visions, angelic visitations, supernatural manifestations of light, fire, wind, etc.) as You gave Moses (Ex. 33), Isaiah (Isa. 6), Ezekiel (Ezek. 1), Daniel (Dan. 7-12), John (Rev. 1), etc.

18 And he (Moses) said, “Please, show me Your glory.” (Ex. 33:18 )

6 Lord, lift up the light of Your countenance upon us. (Ps. 4:6)

17 I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your young men shall see visions, your old men shall dream dreams. (Acts 2:17)

51 You shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending… (Jn. 1:51)

E.             O- One thing life focus: Father, speak to me whenever I need to realign my heart to sit before You more often. I commit to re-adjust my schedule and priorities to live as a “person of one thing” by setting You continually before my heart. I will do this both in prosperity and difficulty.

41 Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. 42 But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her. (Lk. 10:41-42)

F.             W- Walking Worthy (purity/holiness): Father, I pray that You strengthen me to walk in a way that You consider worthy of my highest calling and to escape the escalating sin in the End-Times that I may stand in obedience to Your leadership. Keep me from taking the grace of God in vain (1 Cor. 6:1). Let me lay hold of the fullness that I may not ever “waste” the power You give me.

11 We also pray always for you that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfill all the good pleasure of His goodness and the work of faith with power… (2 Thes. 1:11)

13 That He may establish your hearts blameless in holiness before God… (1 Thes. 3:13)

1 I have made a covenant with my eyes; why should I look on a woman? (Job 31:1)

G.            S- Speech: Father, set a guard over my lips as I set my heart to obey You (Ps. 17:3; 39:1). Free me from defensive, angry and foolish speech (Eph. 4:29; 5:4). Sustained communion with the Spirit requires restrained communication with man

3 Set a guard, O LORD, over my mouth; keep watch over the door of my lips. (Ps. 141:3)

14 Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable… (Ps. 19:14)

H.            H- Humility: Jesus, I want to learn from You how to walk in lowliness. I commit to take Your yoke of meekness (humility) on my life in my attitudes, speech and actions.

29 Take My yoke…and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart… (Mt. 11:29)

I.               I- Intimacy (affectionate zeal): Father, reveal Your name (personality) to me that I may feel Your affection that tenderizes my heart and awakens me in zeal. Release revelation of Yourself as Father and Jesus as the Bridegroom King. Let me hear the voice of the Bridegroom (Jn. 3:29). Give me wisdom on how to live before You and to carry my heart in love, purity and humility.

26 I have declared to them Your name, and will declare it, that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them. (Jn. 17:26)

17 May give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him… (Eph. 1:17)

17 Zeal for Your house has eaten Me up. (Jn. 2:17)

J.              P- Peace and Joy: Father, strengthen my heart with supernatural peace, joy, hope and comfort that overpowers fear and anxiety in me (Rom. 15:33; 2 Thes. 2:16-17; 2 Pet. 1:2).

13 Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. (Rom. 15:13)

16 Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace always in every way. (2 Thes. 3:16)
